Heart disease :
Any disease relating to coronary artery disease can be named as heart disease. It may include heart attacks, congenital abnormalities, structural abnormalities, or even diseases pertaining to conduction abnormalities of the heart. The most common symptoms a patient might experience during a heart disease include severe chest pain associated with sweating, palpitations, jaw pain radiating to the shoulder and back, dizziness, and fainting. Some of the risk factors for developing heart disease are uncontrolled blood sugars, uncontrolled blood pressure, unhealthy lifestyle, obesity, lack of physical activity, overuse of alcohol, and underlying diseases like hypothyroidism. Investigations like ECG, 2D echocardiogram, holter monitoring, stress test, and basic blood investigations would be advised to the patient suffering from heart disease. Treatment depends upon the cause of heart disease. A coronary angiogram followed by an angioplasty might also be advised if there are certain blocks in the coronary arteries or a Pacemaker would be advised if the patient is diagnosed with a conduction abnormality along with the lifestyle modification.
