E C G / Electrocardiogram :
An ECG or electrocardiogram, is a painless, simple test that is done to measure the electrical impulses of the heart. The test is performed to look for the presence of any signs of heart disease. Before the test, the technician attaches small electrode patches to the skin of your chest, arms, and legs. The ECG machine then records the measurement and the result is obtained in the form of waves on a paper. Using the result, your doctor can quickly interpret problems with heart rhythms, diagnose heart attack, electrolyte abnormalities, and poor blood flow to the heart muscle called ischemia. If your doctor suspects that you may have a heart problem, then ECG is the first test that will be performed.
