Ankylosing spondylitis :
Symptoms begin after age 40, Pain that can be either sharp or dull and Sudden onset with morning stiffness of up to a few hours. The pain usually becomes persistent and severe during night pain often forces the patient to rise and move around. There is no specific laboratory test for diagnosing AS .
In blood test common inflammatory marks are increased like Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), Elevated serum IgA, (Alp)Alkaline phosphatase, Anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP), Antinuclear antibodies (ANAs), Imaging Test like X Ray shows bamboo spine pattern , CT Scan , MRI. Treatment includes drugs like NSAIDs, Anti-tnf agents-infliximab, Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors, Corticosteroid and physiotherapy, Severe disease need surgery to repair joint damage.
