UTI in Adults :
Urinary tract infection is called a UTI, which is described as an infection in the urinary system. The urinary tract infection can be caused by the kidneys, urethra, and bladder. Urinary tract infection mainly causes the inflammation of the urinary tract lining, thus resulting in pain in the abdomen, pelvic region, lower back, cloudy urine, foul smelling urine, frequent urination, urinary incontinence, pain during urination, urge incontinence, blood in the urine, fatigue, chills, fever, nausea & vomiting, pain in the penis, confusion, etc. The most common cause of urinary tract infection is E.coli, which is present in the large intestines. Diagnosis of urinary tract infection is done through tests such as urine culture, urinalysis, CT scan, ultrasound, cystoscopy, etc. The treatment options for urinary tract infections can be antibiotic medications, cranberry juice, which reduces the chance of getting an infection, practicing good hygiene, consuming a lot of fluids, and urinating frequently.
