Urethritis :
Inflammation of the urethra or the tube carrying urine from the bladder out of the body due to infection with common bacteria and sexually transmitted infections like gonorrhea or chlamydia. Burning while passing urine, the urge to urinate, and discharge from the urethra may be some of the symptoms. At times the patient does not portray any of the symptoms above but they simply go for the treatment process without any symptom apparent at all. The first step the doctor takes is a physical examination followed by urinalysis. Sometimes a swab test has to be done to establish if the patient is infected or not. Antibiotics are able to treat infections resulting from bacteria. Early treatment would not permit complications as it may lead to infections which may be of origin resulting in an easy spread to the rest of the urinary system or even to reproductive organs.
