Trop T :
Trop T refers to the troponin test, which aims at looking for certain specific forms of a protein called troponin in the blood. Troponin proteins is identified to exist in two forms in the human heart, namely, troponin I and troponin T. This protein is released into the bloodstream when there the heart is damaged, mostly due to a heart attack. Trop T is a diagnostic test that is used to identify certain major health conditions such as chronic kidney disease, heart surgery, pulmonary embolism, infections or inflammation of the heart, heart surgery, heart valve diseases, congestive heart failure, irregular heart rhythms, cardioversion, sepsis, extreme emotional strain, such as stress or grief and exercising too much or too strenuously. One of the key tools to diagnose a heart attack is Trop T. For the troponin test, the normal levels of troponin I and troponin T are 0- 0.4 ng/mL and 0- 0.01 ng/mL, respectively.
