Skin Cancer :
Skin cancer is described as uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells of the skin. Skin cancer is categorized into various types such as basal cell carcinoma, kaposi carcinoma, melanoma, squamous cell carcinoma, merkel cell carcinoma, sebaceous gland carcinoma and dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. The presenting complains of skin cancer include a flat, red or pink or brown colored bump or patch, a new growth or a change in an existing mole or a waxy or peary bump on the ears, face and neck, sores that look crusty, bleed often or have a depression in the middle, areas on the skin that look like scars, a wound or sore that doesn't heal or that heals and comes back again and a rough, scaly lesion. The management of skin cancer is done using various modalities such as curettage, excisional surgery, electrodesiccation, cryotherapy, Mohs surgery, chemotherapy, photo dynamic therapy, radiation therapy and immunotherapy.
