Ptosis :
Diagnosis of ptosis is thoroughly carried out through an eye examination and medical history to determine any cause. However, in cases where nerve related causes are suspected, imaging studies or neurological evaluations are necessary. For mild cases or even for specific causes of ptosis, treatment may be simply follow-up observation. For moderate or severe presentations, a surgical intervention would be in place to tighten the muscles that raise the eyelid. These are carried out by ophthalmologists or oculoplastic surgeons who specialize directly in eye and eyelid conditions, they do try to reposition the eyelid back into its regular position, and then it will work as expected. Early treatment is required because rectifying the probable vision problems resulting from ptosis solves the condition involved.
