Nose bleed :
Nose bleed, also known as epistaxis, occurs when you lose blood from the tissue that lines the inside of the nose. Nose bleed is classified into several types, namely, anterior nosebleed, in which nose bleed starts in front of the nose on the lower part of the septum, and posterior nose bleed, characterized by nose bleeding from deep inside the nose. The factors causing a nose bleed include allergies, dry air, injuries of the nose, the presence of any objects in the nose, sinus infections, upper respiratory tract infections, high altitudes, recreational drugs, blood thinners, use of antihistamines, and a deviated nasal septum. The presenting complaints of posterior nose bleed are bad taste in the back of the throat and bleeding from the nose. The treatment methods to manage a nose bleed include nasal packing, advising medications, cauterization, removing foreign bodies, and surgical procedures like ligation and septoplasty.
