Herpes :
Herpes is a highly contagious infection caused by herpes simplex virus. It commonly affects the mouth, face, genitals, eyes, brain, spinal cord, skin, and other organs like the esophagus, lungs, and liver. Types of herpes are HSV 1(Herpes simplex virus 1), HSV 2 (Herpes simplex virus 2), oral herpes, genital herpes, herpes gladiatorum, herpetic whitlow, herpes keratitis, HSV encephalitis, and herpes meningitis. It spreads by direct contact like genital to genital, oral to oral, oral to genital, and skin to sore with an HSV infection person and causes painful blisters and ulcers. Symptoms may include blisters on the lips, around the mouth, genitals, hands, face, ears, chest, swelling in the finger, eye pain, irritation in the eye, headache, focal seizures, fever, changes in speech, and sensitivity to light. Triggering factors of herpes are fever, stress, suppressed immune system, menstruation, exposure to the sun, upper respiratory infection, and trauma to the area of the mouth.
