Hepatitis A :

Hepatitis A is a liver infection that is cause by the hepatitis A virus, mainly known as HAV. This infection spreads usually by the fecal-oral route and most often due to contamination through food or water. Symptoms appear one to six weeks after infections and may typically include fatigue, nausea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, and jaundice. Hepatitis A is largely self-limiting. Most patients recover and usually without persistent liver disease. There is no specific antiviral treatment. The best supportive care is bed rest and hydration. Vaccination against this infection is the best preventive measure especially for travelers who may go to countries where this virus is more common. Safe hydration and good hygiene practice helps in prvention of this virus.
