Gall Bladder Surgery :
Gall bladder is an organ located located under the liver which helps in storage and concentration of the bile juice that is received from the liver. Gall bladder releases bile to the small intestine which helps in fat digestion and absorption. Gall bladder surgery is done to remove it from the abdominal cavity known as "Cholecystectomy". It is done in conditions like gall stone (obstruction, inflammation causing severe pain), gall bladder cancer/polyp/mass, biliary dyskinesia, and other chronic gall bladder diseases .The risk factors include family history, obesity, rapid weight loss, middle age(>40years), female gender, pregnancy etc. Cholescystectomy is performed by a general surgeon or a surgical gastroenterologist under anesthesia as an open surgery, laparoscopic(most common) or a robotic surgery .
