Dizziness :
Dizziness is an overarching term or perceptions that may encompass dizziness, lightheadedness, unsteadiness, or faintness. Some possible causes of dizziness include dehydration, inner ear problems, low blood pressure or anxiety. Other medical conditions associated with dizziness are drugs, migraines, low blood pressure levels or serious diseases including heart diseases.
The symptoms may range a person feels like he or she is spinning, swaying, or on the verge of losing balance. According to medical findings, dizziness can easily affect and impact on the individuals' daily activities and quality of life. Treatment will depend on the cause. Less severe patients only need intravenous rehydration and rest. In cases of dizziness caused by other underlying ailments, medications to counteract vertigo or treatment for the underlying disorder can be prescribed. Some people may require balance and vestibular rehabilitation physical therapy. Investigations like carotid doppler, Tilt table test, MRI, 24 hours holter monitoring,EEG would be suggested to rule out the underlying cause for dizziness.
