Diabetic Retinopathy :
Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes that affects the eyes due to damage to the blood vessels of the retina. Types include Non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy and proliferative diabetic retinopathy, People with gestational diabetes, Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, pregnancy, hypertension, uncontrolled blood sugar, and hyperlipidemia. Symptoms include blurred vision, color blindness, night blindness, eye floaters, trouble reading and seeing far away objects. Diagnosis is made by visual activity and intraocular pressure to check for signs of glaucoma, eye muscle function, peripheral vision, and pupil response. Diabetic retinopathy can be reduced by avoiding smoking, controlling blood sugar, exercising regularly, and keeping blood pressure within a healthy range.
