Deviated Nasal Septum :
A deviated septum is a condition where the bone and cartilage that divides the nasal cavity is off-center significantly. It may caused while playing sports, car accidents, falls, and fights. Symptoms of deviated nasal septum include headaches, difficulty breathing out of the nostrils, nasal congestion, facial pain, noisy breathing, snoring, chronic sinusitis, nose bleeds, and sleep apnea. Complications may include chronic sinus issues, sleep apnea, loud breathing during sleep, and xerostomia. Diagnosis is made by examining the nose. Treatment includes nasal decongestants, nasal steroid plays, antihistamines, and surgeries like septoplasty, septorhinoplasty, submucosal resection, and turbinate outfracture. Risks of rhinoplasty are infection, bleeding, perforation in the septum, and loss of smell.
