Chalazion :
The eyelids comprise tiny oil glands that help in keeping the eyes moist. If these glands get blocked, they retain the oil and swell up, causing a red bump on the eyelid. Such a cyst is called a chalazion. It usually appears on the upper eyelid, and its initial growth can be slow and painful. However, the pain quickly subsides. Eventually, the cyst pops, and the oil drains. It's important to avoid popping the cyst as it may lead to infection and other complications. Simply keep the area clean until the cyst and skin heal. Doing warm compresses and avoiding touching the eyes can help the cyst drain faster. Usually, a chalazion drains and heals within a few weeks. However, it's important to seek medical attention if it disrupts daily life or does not heal in a month.
