Brain Stroke :
Brain stroke is an emergency condition in which there is a blockage of blood flow or bleeding in the brain. There are two different types of strokes, such as ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. The causes of ischemic stroke can be clotting disorders, atherosclerosis, microvascular ischemic disease, atrial fibrillation, and heart defects. The causes of hemorrhagic stroke are brain tumors, moyamoya disease, brain aneurysms, and high blood pressure. The common symptoms that are noticed in a brain stroke are blurred vision, aphasia, coma, confusion, headaches, dizziness, memory loss, vertigo, mood swings, loss of coordination, stiffness of the neck, seizures, slurred speech, loss of senses, and paralysis. Brain stroke is diagnosed through neurological examination, CT scan, blood tests, electrocardiogram, electroencephalogram, and MRI scan. Management of brain stroke is done with medications, and stroke rehabilitation involves occupational therapy, speech therapy, cognitive rehab, and physiotherapy.
