An allergy specialist, also known as an allergist or immunologist, mainly deals with diagnosing and managing allergies and disorders that affect the immune system. An allergy specialist will be qualified with an MBBS graduation, followed by a post-graduation, MD in general medicine or pediatrics, and further specialization in allergy and immunology. The conditions that can be managed by an allergy specialist will be eczema, asthma, allergic rhinitis, food allergies, urticaria, insect sting allergies, anaphylaxis, eosinophilic disorders, angioedema, drug allergies, sinus infections, allergies to latex, and allergic conjunctivitis. The symptoms which should be monitored to consult an allergy specialist will be frequent sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, persistent allergic reactions, swelling of lips, face, itching of skin, coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, rashes, allergies, digestive issues, frequent sinus infections, asthma attacks, ear infections, allergies affecting quality of life, rashes on skin.
