Tennis Elbow :
Tennis elbow is an injury to the elbow that causes inflammation and pain. The tennis elbow will occur due to excess stress on the elbow and repetitive movement of the elbow. The symptoms that are noticed in tennis elbow will be pain in the outside of the elbow, swelling of the elbow, stiffness, and a weakened grip to hold an object. The diagnosis of tennis elbow will be based on the physical examination, X-ray of the elbow, MRI scan, electromyography (EMG), and ultrasound scan. The management advised for the tennis elbow will be through the RICE method, which includes rest, ice application, compression with a wrapping bandage, and elevation of the elbow above the level of the heart. There will be other treatment options like medications to relieve pain, physiotherapy, wearing braces, steroid injections, shockwave therapy, tenotomy, and injecting platelet-rich plasma. When the tennis elbow becomes severe, surgery is suggested to remove the damaged tissue and to repair the damaged tendon.
