Slow heartbeat :
Slow heartbeat or bradycardia is the heart rate below 60 beats per minute. Although mainly people find themselves with bradycardia during sleep or in athletes whose heart rates are slow, dangerous conditions arise when bradycardia leads to the poor flow of blood throughout the body. Some of the causes of bradycardia include problems in the electrical system of the heart, age, heart diseases, and some drugs.
Such symptoms may include fatigue, dizziness, fainting or shortness of breath. Diagnosis is made during the examination check-up through an electrocardiogram since it involves checking on the electrical activities of the heart. Treatment also is very specific to what is to be treated, for instance, change in medications, treatment of heart conditions or the installation of a pacemaker in regulating the heart's rhythm.
