Presbyopia :
Presbyopia is an eye condition that affects the vision of the eye when looking at closer objects. Presbyopia will be caused due to many reasons, such as the loss of flexibility in the natural lens, which is present in the eyes due to aging. Generally, it will start at the age of 40 years and worsen at the age of mid-60 years. The symptoms that will be observed in presbyopia will be blurred vision, holding material closer to look, headaches, requiring more light to read, and eye strain. The diagnosis advised for presbyopia will be based on the eye examination and through refraction assessment in order to detect nearsightedness, astigmatism, and farsightedness. Presbyopia will be treated by the use of eye drops, eyeglasses, or contact lenses. And surgical treatments are suggested, such as photorefractive keratectomy (PRK), SMILE (small-incision lenticule extraction) surgery, and LASIK surgery. There will be some risk factors that can increase the risk of presbyopia, including age of 40 years and more, farsightedness, using certain medications, cardiovascular diseases, and diabetes.
