Pap Smear :
Pap smear will be known as the screening technique that is used to collect the cells that are abnormal in the cervix region for the diagnosis of cancer. The Pap smear test is used for the diagnosis of precancerous cells in the cervix, human papillomavirus, and cervical cancer. Pap smear screening is done at the age of 21 years. Pap smear screening will be done every 3 years for women aged 21 -29 years, and then between the ages of 30 and 65 years, and then every 3 years thereafter. HPV screening will also be done every 5 years. Screening for cancer can be stopped after the age of 65 years. Pap smear screening technique is advised in case of any suspicion of cervical cancer, due to risk factors such as exposure to DES (diethylstilbestrol), HIV infection, and a weaker immune system. Pap smear screening will be carried out with a speculum, which will be inserted through the vagina and then used to locate the cervix. Cancer cell samples are collected with a soft brush and a spatula.
