Myocarditis :
Myocarditis is described as inflammation of the myocardium or heart muscle, making it difficult for the heart to pump blood. The significant signs of myocarditis include heart palpitations, fever, tiredness, chest pain, shortness of breath, lightheadedness, pain in the abdomen, abnormal heart rhythm, fainting, no appetite, feeling weak, inability to exercise and swollen legs or feet. The causative factors of myocarditis include infections from fungi, bacteria, flu, herpes virus, parvovirus B19, and coxsackie virus, adenovirus, side effects of certain medications such as medicines for the heart, antidepressants, and anti-seizure medication, chagas disease, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, rheumatic fever, radiation, and exposure to heavy metals. The treatment methods to deal with myocarditis include taking corticosteroids, medications for heart failure, and intravenous (IV) immunoglobulin, and surgeries to manage serious complications like pacemaker insertion or implantation of a left ventricular assist device (LVAD).
