Laryngitis :
Laryngitis is a condition characterized by inflammation of the larynx, which is structure that connects the throat and windpipe. Laryngitis is categorized into two types. Acute laryngitis is caused by temporary vocal strain from yelling, singing, and frequent speaking, as well as viral infections, bacterial infections, and candida infections. Chronic laryngitis occurs due to persistent overuse of voice, chronic sinusitis, chronic acid reflux, smoking, and heavy drinking. The warning signs of laryngitis in people are hoarseness or a weak voice, losing the voice, sore throat, tickling in the throat, dry cough, and dry throat. Laryngitis is diagnosed by taking a culture of swabs from the throat, laryngoscopy, and by completing biopsy. Laryngitis is managed by reducing its symptoms, which is done by advising medication like antibiotics, antifungals, corticosteroids, and pain relievers, resting the voice as much as possible, drinking plenty of water, using a humidifier to relieve the dryness and avoiding taking decongestants.
