Lap Hysterectomy :
A laparoscopic hysterectomy is a minimally invasive procedure done by a gynaecologist where the uterus is removed using a laparoscope. It is done to treat conditions like vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, uterine prolapse, cervical cancer, uterine cancer, hyperplasia of the uterus, and uterine rupture. The advantages of laparoscopic hysterectomy are faster recovery, less pain, smaller incisions, early return to normal activities, and shorter hospital stays. Side effects could be no menstruation, changed sexual experience, and emotional aspects. Possible complications are feeling sick, bleeding, infection at the surgical site, venous thromboembolism, chest infection, surgical emphysema, damage to the structures of the bowel, bladder, and blood vessels, pelvic infection or abscess, damage to the uterus structures, gas embolism.
