Dry skin :
Dry skin, also called as xeroderma, is a skin condition, in which the skin appears rough and shows lack of moisture to keep it soft. Dry skin is categorized into several types such as seborrheic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, athlete's foot and eczema. The significant signs of dry skin are skin that is cracked, rough, tight, flaking, scaling, itchy and darker or lighter than the normal skin tone or is in red to purple. Dry skin condition is observed anywhere in the body and mostly on feet, hands, genitals, genitals, legs, around the mouth, elbows and face. The primary causes of dry skin are genetic makeup, age factor, climatic conditions, medical conditions like allergies, eczema, diabetes and kidney disease and certain occupations. The management of dry skin is done using various methods including using moisturizers regularly and taking medications like topical steroids.
