Complete heart block CHB :
Complete heart block is also known as third degree atrioventricular block. It is a serious cardiac condition where the electrical signal from the atria fail to reach the ventricles in turning leading to abnormal heart rhythm. Individual with complete heart block often experience symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, syncope, chest pain, and shortness of breath.
The severity of these symptoms may vary from mild to severe from one person to other. Complete heart block requires a prompt medical intervention often with implantation of the pacemaker in order to regulate the heart flow along with ensuring a proper coordination between the chambers. Myocardial infarction, certain medications and myocarditis are some of the risk factors that may lead to Complete heart block. Patients with CHB require regular followup with a cardiologist in order to monitor the pacemaker function, adjust if nay settings needed and optimize the over all cardiac health.
