Cervical Spondylosis :

Cervical spondylosis is the result of deterioration caused by wear and tear of the bones and cartilage in the neck, commonly referred to as the cervical spine. With the age related degeneration of the spinal discs between the vertebrae in the neck, the area may become reduced and therefore bone spurs are formed where bones scrape against each other. The symptoms are stiffness, pain, and loss of range of movement of the neck. Pain may also spread into the shoulders, arms, or hands. It might, in its worse case, compress the spinal cord or the nerve roots causing numbness, weakness, or paresthesia of the limbs. Basic treatment entails the alleviation of pain and in some areas mobility improvement. It could be as simple as neck strengthening through exercises, use of painkillers or anti-inflammatories, or proper postures in life. In extreme compression, say for nerve compression, surgery may be the best option, and goals may come in removing the bone spurs or fixing any damaged disc.
