Amenorrhoea :
Amenorrhoea is described as the absence of one or more menstrual periods due to various factors. Amenorrhoea is categorized into two types such as primary and secondary. The factors causing primary amenorrhoea are genetic abnormalities and some acquired conditions. Primary amenorrhoea is seen in women who haven't got their first period yet and are older than fifteen years. Secondary amenorrhoea is when the period is missed for more than three months and occurs due to stress, pregnancy, lactation and a chronic illness. Secondary amenorrhoea is also caused by various other factors: medical conditions like hypothalamic amenorrhoea, pituitary disorders, ovarian tumors, primary ovarian insufficiency, ongoing chronic illness and obesity. The symptoms of amenorrhoea are lack of periods, nipples leaking milk, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, vision changes, excess hair growth on the face and body and acne. The treatment options to manage amenorrhoea include lifestyle modifications, changing exercise levels, consuming healthy diet, following stress management techniques, surgical methods and hormonal treatment.
