Dermatologist :
The word "derma" means skin, and a dermatologist is a doctor who specialises in treating skin problems. Dermatologists can also diagnose and treat problems that affect the hair and nails. These specialists are best known for treating common problems like dandruff in the hair, infections in the nails and unusual patches on the skin. However, dermatologists also have the expertise to treat severe illnesses like skin cancer.
An MBBS doctor can become a dermatologist by earning an MD in Dermatology, Venerology & Leprosy. Some dermatologists alternatively earn degrees such as DNB in Dermatology or MS in Dermatology. Dermatologists can provide treatments such as chemical peels, Botox injections, wart removal, skin biopsy and laser treatments. In many cases, they treat their patients with a combination of oral and topical medicines.
