A Neuro physiotherapist is a physiotherapist who specializes in treating neurological conditions that affect the patient's movement and function, which result from concerns of the brain, spinal cord, or nerves. They are the doctors who obtained a BPT degree followed by a master's (MPT) in Neurological Physiotherapy. They deal with patients affected by neurological conditions like spinal cord injury, brain injury, Parkinson's disease, stroke, Multiple sclerosis, and Guillain-Barre Syndrome. They employ techniques like exercises, movement re-education, joint and soft tissue mobilization, and balance training through specialized equipment for the improvement of muscle weakness, poor balance, coordination, tremors, spasticity, and loss of function in neurologic patients. They provide assistance in lifestyle adjustments, fatigue management, and self-management strategies.
