Paediatric CT Surgeons are specialist doctors who treat heart and lung problems in children and adolescents with a surgical approach. These specialists usually complete an MS in General Surgery after then MBBS. They then do an MCh in Cardiothoracic Surgery or its equivalent, and finally do a fellowship in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery.
After many years of studying and training, a pediatric CT surgeon gains the skills required to operate on the lungs and heart of infants and children. These specialists can treat problems such as atrial and ventricular septal defects, abnormal tissue growths in the chest, cysts, trauma and injuries. They can also remove cancerous tumors in from the heart and lungs, or perform a lung or heart transplant.
