Eye pain :
Eye pain refers to a sharp, throbbing, or aching sensation felt in the eye and is a common condition that affects one or both eyes. The causative factors of eye pain include contact lenses, infections, allergies, toxins, increased eye pressure and inflammation. Eye pain also occurs due to eye problems such as cellulitis, conjunctivitis, dry eyes, glaucoma, corneal damage and infections and other conditions like blunt trauma, uveitis and optic neuritis. The management of eye pain involves taking over the counter artificial tear drops, medicated eye drops, using a clean towel to wipe the face or eye, keeping hands and fingers out of the eyes, washing hands frequently, avoiding the use of makeup while the eyes are infected and avoiding usage of contact lenses when the eyes are infected. Suppose eye pain is associated with other significant signs like vomiting, feeling pressure, seeing halos around the lights, signs of bodily infection, bulging eyeballs, blurred vision and inability to move the eyes through the normal range of motion. In that case, it is important to consult an eye doctor immediately.
