Voice Surgery :
Voice Surgery is a procedure that raises the pitch of the voice and thus it sounds higher. Technically, it changes the tightness, length and size of the vocal cords. It is done if there is a disorder of sex orientation, disorders that require androgen therapy as a treatment which is a male sex hormone and in those who have ovarian cancer. A laryngologist performs this surgery using a laryngoscope. Voice surgery can help to maintain the pitch of the voice more consistently. The potential complications of Voice Surgery include voice breaks or tremors, voice lowering over time, no change in pitch or too little change in the pitch, weak or strained voice, rough or hoarse voice, vocal fold paralysis, vocal cord lesions, vocal cord dysfunction and abscesses in the airway.
