Throat Infection :
Throat Infection is also known as pharyngitis and is characterized by a sore throat and a scratchy sensation in the back of the throat. It happens due to the inflammation of the mucosa of the throat. Throat infection is of acute and chronic types based on how long the symptoms last. Throat infection occurs due to other bacterial infections like strep throat and sinus infections, allergies, post nasal drip, tonsillitis, over screaming, mouth breathing, tumors of the throat, and acid reflux. The signs of a throat infection are fever, headache, stomach upset, swollen lymph nodes, nasal congestion, runny nose, cough, fatigue, hoarseness, redness or swelling in the throat and tonsils, and white patches, streaks or spots in the throat and tonsils. Throat infection is treated by prescribing antibiotics, antihistamines, antacids and special mouthwashes.
