Snoring :
Snoring is described as a grumbling or rattling sound made by people while sleeping. This usually happens when there is an airway obstruction. Some people make quiet vibrations, while others make sounds like grumbling, whistling, rumbling sounds, and snorting sounds while sleeping. Individuals who snore a lot also experience fatigue, feel moody, wake up with a sore throat, have headaches, have difficulty focusing, and toss and turn during sleep. An ENT specialist evaluates this condition by physically examining the nose, mouth, and throat for airways and by running tests like sleep studies to identify sleep disorders. Snoring is managed by various treatment options, such as using nasal strips, making lifestyle changes, wearing oral appliances like mouth guards, and certain medications to relieve nasal congestion, which help in breathing freely. Surgical methods to manage this condition depend on the cause and include septoplasty (to correct the deviated septum), tonsillectomy (to remove tonsils), and adenoidectomy (to remove adenoids).
