Salivary Gland Tumour :
Salivary Gland Tumour is a malignant tumor of salivary glands located in the mouth and throat. Salivary gland tumours are seen near parotid glands, submandibular glands and sublingual salivary glands. The symptoms of salivary gland tumors are weakness or numbness in the face, neck, jaw or mouth, persistent pain in the face, jaw, neck or mouth, difficulty opening the mouth fully or moving the facial muscles, and difficulty in swallowing and bleeding the mouth. This tumor is staged in the TLM system following the tumor size, location, spread to the lymph nodes and whether the cancer has metastasized to organs or not. Salivary gland tumour is treated by chemotherapy, radiation and by surgically removing the tumor, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and prescribing radiosensitizers.
