Peripheral Angioplasty :
Peripheral angioplasty is a keyhole surgery that is done to clear blockages in the peripheral arteries. The peripheral arteries are responsible for carrying oxygen-rich blood to the extremities. The inner lining of these arteries can become narrow or completely blocked with fatty deposits. Such narrowing or blockage is called Peripheral Arterial Disease.
A peripheral angioplasty begins with providing the patient with anaesthesia so they do not feel pain. Then, a surgeon makes a keyhole-sized cut in the patient's groin. The surgeon inserts a thin, flexible tube through this cut. Next, the surgeon uses special scanning equipment to guide the catheter to the artery that has the blockage. When the catheter reaches the blockage, it slides a tiny balloon into it and expands it. The expansion widens the walls of the blocked artery and clears it. Finally, the surgeon may place a metal mesh tube in the artery to prevent a future blockage.Found 28 Doctors for Peripheral Angioplasty Treatment in Indore
