Larynx Cancer :
Larynx cancer can be referred to as laryngeal cancer, which affects the throat, including the larynx or voice box. The symptoms which can be observed in case of larynx cancer can be changes in voice, such as hoarseness, sore throat, cough, difficulty in swallowing, pain in the ear, a lump seen in the neck or throat, difficulty making sounds, feeling of discomfort in the throat, breathing difficulty, noisy breathing, or cough with blood. Larynx cancer can occur due to sexually transmitted infection (STI), human papillomavirus (HPV). The diagnosis of larynx cancer can be made through physical examination, imaging tests such as MRI scan, chest X-ray, CT scan, biopsy, and PET scan. After the diagnosis of cancer, staging will be done to plan the treatment. There will be early larynx cancer and advanced larynx cancer. The treatment for larynx cancer will be through chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy, and surgery will be advised to remove the tumor. In case of advanced stages of cancer, the larynx will be removed, which is called a laryngectomy.
