IUI :
IUI is a short form of intrauterine insemination. It is a fertility treatment recommended by a gynaecologist when a couple has been trying to conceive a child for several months with no success. The IUI treatment has four major steps. First, the doctor gives the female certain hormone medications to stimulate the ovaries. The doctor then continually monitors the female with tests like ultrasound scans and blood tests. These tests are performed almost daily until the doctor decides it is the right time for insemination. Then, the doctor extracts a sperm sample from the male. The sample then undergoes a procedure called a sperm wash, which separates the quality sperm from the sample. Finally, the sperm sample is introduced directly into the womb with a catheter. The female must rest for some time after IUI to avoid unnecessary failure of the procedure.
