EEG :
An EEG is a diagnostic test that involves measuring the electrical activity in the brain. A neurologist may order an EEG when an individual experiences problems like confusion, fainting, seizures, memory loss or behavioural changes. The test can also help monitor a patient who has problems like a brain tumour, a brain infection, dementia, or coma.
To perform an EEG, the patient is made to sit or lie down before several electrodes are connected to the scalp. The patient should then relax and sit with the eyes closed. The test is painless and the electrodes record the electrical signals and send it to the EEG machine.
