Eclampsia :
Signs and symptoms of eclampsia are unbearable headache, blurring of vision, nausea with or without vomiting, severe abdominal pain, reduced urine output, lack of fetal movements and seizures are the hallmark symptom. Elderly age of the mother, first pregnancy, twin pregnancy, chronic untreated high blood pressure, diabetes, auto immune diseases, history to pre eclampsia during previous pregnancies, obesity. Diagnosis of pre eclampsia is done during regular ante natal check ups through blood and urine examinations. Treatment include anti epileptics, anti hypertensives, planning for delivery if the baby is full term. Complications of eclampsia includes bleeding in brain, coma and may finally leads to death.
