Phototherapy :
Phototherapy is a treatment procedure. It can be done with light therapy for treating jaundice, which is seen in newborn babies. During the procedure of phototherapy, UV light will be exposed to the skin of the baby. There are many kinds of UV lights, such as UVB (ultraviolet light B) and UVA (ultraviolet light A). The other types of phototherapy lights will be blue light therapy and red light therapy. Phototherapy can be advised in conditions like vitiligo, psoriasis, eczema, itching, mucosis fungoides, and morphea. The advantages of the phototherapy will be prevention of relapses and flare ups of eczema, dermatitis, reduction of skin inflammation, controls itching. The duration of exposure to light in phototherapy depends on the size of the area that is affected on the body. The side effects that can be seen after the phototherapy will be redness over the skin, which will subside within 24 hours, blisters over the skin, and dryness of the skin.
