Menorrhagia :
Menorrhagia can be referred to as heavy menstrual bleeding. Some signs can be seen in case of menorrhagia, including bleeding with blood clots, periods lasting more than seven days, changing pads even in the middle of the night due to excess bleeding, severe abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and severe cramps. The menorrhagia can be occurred due to hormonal imbalances like thyroid disease, anovulation, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), non cancerous growths develops in the uterus such as fibroids, polyps, adenomyosis, miscarriage, pregnancy complications such as ectopic pregnancy, infections such as gonorrhea, chronic endometritis, chlamydia, trichomoniasis, and other conditions will be kidney disease, von willebrand disease, leukemia, pelvic inflammatory disease, liver disease, cervical cancer, uterine cancer, certain medications. The diagnosis of menorrhagia can be done through pelvic ultrasound, MRI scan, blood tests, pap smear, endometrial biopsy, and transvaginal ultrasound. Menorrhagia can be managed with medications, and surgical procedures will include myomectomy, dilation and curettage, hysterectomy, uterine artery embolization (UAE), hysteroscopy, and endometrial ablation.
