Iritis :
Iritis can be referred to as the irritation and inflammation of the iris in the eye. Iris can be known as the pupil of the eye. This iritis can affect one eye or both eyes, and the symptoms will be redness of the eyes, discomfort in the eye, light sensitivity, and decreased vision. Iritis can be caused by eye injury, genetic causes like autoimmune diseases, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, Behcet's disease, some medications, infection, such as viral infections, and sarcoidosis. The diagnostic tests that are done to diagnose the iritis will be the slit lamp examination, eye examination, and visual acuity test. The main goal of the treatment for iritis will be to preserve the vision and relieve eye pain. The management of iritis includes eye drops to dilate the pupil and steroid eye drops to reduce the inflammation. There are risk factors that can increase the risk of iritis, such as sexually transmitted diseases, tobacco smoking, genetics, and a weak immune system.
