Frozen shoulder :
Frozen shoulder can be referred to as a painful shoulder that affects the movement of the joint. Frozen shoulder can be referred to as adhesive capsulitis. The frozen shoulder can be caused by inflammation of the shoulder joint, which can lead to thickening and tightening of the shoulder. The symptoms that can be noticed in frozen shoulder will be in three stages: freezing stage, frozen stage, and thawing stage. The diagnosis of frozen shoulder can be made with physical examination, X-rays, ultrasound scan, and MRI scan. The treatment for frozen shoulder can be done with hot compress, cold compress, pain relievers, steroid injections, physiotherapy, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), and exercises suggested by the doctor at home. When the above treatment does not give any relief from the pain, surgical treatment can be indicated, which can be called manipulation and shoulder arthroscopy. There are risk factors that can increase the risk of frozen shoulder in individuals aged 40 to 60 years, females, individuals with diabetes, recent shoulder injuries, stroke, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, parkinson's disease.
