Folliculitis :
Folliculitis can be described as a common skin condition affecting the follicles of hair and thus causes inflammation and infection. There are common areas where folliculitis can be seen, such as the arms, upper back, face, and lower legs. The folliculitis can be mainly caused by long term use of antibiotics, obesity, shaving hair frequently, sweating a lot, uncleaned hot tub or sauna, and diabetes. There are symptoms that can be noticed when there is folliculitis, including irritation, redness, bumpy areas on the skin, and itching of the skin. There are many types of folliculitis, including Staphylococcus aureus folliculitis, Malassezia folliculitis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa folliculitis, Pseudofolliculitis barbae, gram negative folliculitis, boils, sycosis barbae, carbuncles, and eosinophilic folliculitis. The diagnosis of folliculitis will be based on the symptoms. The treatment for folliculitis includes cleansers called antibacterial, application of warm towels over the irritated skin, avoiding hair shaving, and anti-itching creams.
