Blepharoplasty :
Blepharoplasty can be described as an eyelid surgery which will be indicated to improve the appearance of the eyelids. During this procedure, the surgeon will remove the excess skin, fatty tissue or reposition the tissues, muscle, which can help in reducing the bagginess under the eyelids. Blepharoplasty can be a cosmetic procedure and also helps to improve the vision of the eyes, and when sagging of eyelids leads to vision issues. Blepharoplasty cannot be advised in the case of diabetes, eye diseases such as dry eyes, glaucoma, high blood pressure, detached retina, cardiovascular diseases, thyroid diseases. Before the procedure, there are measures to be followed such as medical evaluation, cessation of smoking, consumption of prescribed medicines, discontinuation of blood thinners, anti-inflammatory drugs, and aspirin. During the procedure, incisions will be made at the eyelash line and then the excess skin and fat. There are complications that can be seen with blepharoplasty, includes infection, dry eyes, scarring, bleeding, discoloration of eyelids, inability to close the eyes fully, abnormal folding of eyelid skin, pulled down lash line, and loss of vision.
