Acid Peptic Disease :
Acid peptic disease can be referred to as ulcers, which can be formed in the lining of the digestive tract. There are other types of peptic ulcers, which can be stomach ulcers, esophageal ulcers, duodenal ulcers, or jejunal ulcers. Acid peptic disease can be seen due to the infection called as H.pylori infection, and due to the overuse of NSAIDs. There are less common causes which include chemotherapy, ischemia, Crohn's disease, stomach cancer, severe illness, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The symptoms that can be seen in acid peptic disease can be pain in the upper abdomen, indigestion, bloating, nausea, burping, vomiting, heartburn, and loss of appetite. The acid peptic disease diagnosis can be made based on the tests to identify H.pylori, CT scan, upper endoscopy. The management of acid peptic disease can be done through medicines to control the infection, when there is perforation in the lining of the intestine, it can be treated with the upper endoscopy.
