Dr. Dasari Prasada Rao

Dr. Dasari Prasad Rao, is a very senior and highly experienced, and acclaimed cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon who is credited with many firsts such as the first heart transplant operation, first coronary bypass surgery, and radial artery graft in CABG in Andhra Pradesh. He has also been awarded the Padmasri by the Government of India for his many services to society. Dr. Dasari Prasad Rao is an alumnus of NRI Medical College, Guntur from where he received his MBBS and MS-General Surgery degrees before getting his MCh in Cardiothoracic Surgery degree from the prestigious AIIMS. He underwent further training in Cardio-Thoracic Vascular Surgery at the Greenlane Hospital, New Zealand. He has served as the President of Indian Association of Cardio-Thoracic Surgeons and is an active member of the Society of Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgeons. He is currently working as a consultant cardiothoracic vascular surgeon at the Indo-US Super Specialty Hospital, Ameerpet, Hyderabad.
